Meet and assist on Jammu Station & drive to the Srinagar. Check into the Houseboat. (Srinagar is also known as “PARADISE ON EARTH”). After having rest in the houseboat for an hour. Enjoy Boat ride by (Shikara) to Explore the Dal-lake, Waterways, Back waters, Canals, Floating Gardens, Vegetable Gardens, Water Lilies, Lotus Flowers, Easily accessible Mobile Venders, Floating Handicraft Centre & inherited lifestyle of people living inside the Lake since decades. Return back to Houseboat. Overnight stay in Deluxe Houseboat.
Day 02:Srinagar-Gulmarg-Srinagar (122 kms.)
Leave after breakfast for full day excursion to Gulmarg, lies in the west of Srinagar at a distance of 56 kms. On an altitude of 2730 mts, above sea level, snow caped mountains are all around one can even have a view of Nanga Parbat on a clear sunny day. It is premier winter sports Ski resorts for Skiers with one of the world’s highest 18 hole golf courses. For joy seekers, cable car presently uptoKhilanmarg& is Asia’s long run cable ride appox.5kms. Evening return back to Hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
Day 03: Srinagar- Pahalgam
After breakfast, Check out and Transfer to Pahalgam. In the south-east of Srinagar situated at an altitude of 2130 mts. above sea level. It is Kashmir’s most popular resort surrounded by high mountains, dense forests, high mountain lakes, it also offers 9 hole golf course, skiing, pony trails, angling (rainbow & brown trout’s) horse riding, trekking (both hard & soft) & various places of interest in & around like Aru valley, Lidderwat valley, Kolhai glacier, Shesh Nag, Chandanwari(route to holy cave), Baisam&Mamil famous for 9th century old (Shiva Temple) thus happens to be a preferred spot among domestic tourists. Can enjoy all these on your own.Check in hotel refresh yourself & after lunch in afternoon on your own explore the surroundings with scenic view all around & return back to hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
DAY .4 : Arrive Srinagar; drive to Kargil (200 km; approx 6 hrs)
Pickup from Srinagar Hotel / airport and drive to Kargil. Enroute you will pass Sonmarg and also cross Zoji La pass. You will also pass the Kargil War Memorial near Drass, and can stop for a visit. Overnight at Kargil. Please note, Zojila Pass is closed to traffic during winter months. This trip should only be planned for travel dates roughly between 20th May and 20th Oct.
DAY .5 : Kargil to Leh (210 km; approx 6 hrs)
Today you will drive from Kargil towards Leh. Enroute stop to visit Lamayuru and Alchi monasteries, Gurudwara Pathhar Sahib, Magnetic hill and Confluence. Lamayuru is one of the oldest monasteries of Ladakh. Spend a little more time in Alchi, which is a distinctive monastery near the Indus with beautiful paintings and frescoes. Gurudwara Pathar Sahib stands at the place where Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikh religion and the first Guru, is believed to have vanquished a demon. The gurudwara is maintained today by the Indian Army. Close by is Magnetic Hill – it has been noticed that when a vehicle is parked on neutral gear on this metallic road, the vehicle slides up-hill. Also see the Hall of Fame Museum, built and maintained by the Indian Army. The Confluence at Nimu is where the rivers Indus and Zanskar merge, their two different colours clearly visible from above. Arrive in Leh by evening. DAY .6 : Leh
In the morning proceed for a monastery tour. You will visit Shey Palace, Thiksey monastery and Hemis monastery. Shey Palace was once the residence of the royal family. Thiksey is one of the largest and architecturally most impressive Gompas around Leh. Hemis monastery is the largest in Ladakh, and one the most important. The museum here is worth a visit. In the afternoon visit Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa. The 18th century Leh Palace overlooks Leh town and is modeled on the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. Shanti Stupa is a Japanese peace pagoda, which offers wonderful views over Leh town especially around sunset. DAY .7 : Leh to Nubra Valley (140 km; approx 5-6 hrs)
Today you will drive from Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass. Arrive at Nubra in the afternoon; after freshening up, proceed for a visit to the White Sand Dunes at Hunder. You can also enjoy a camel ride (direct payment basis) on one of the Bactrian camels this region is known for. DAY .8: Nubra Valley to Leh (140 km; approx 5-6 hrs)
Check out in the morning and proceed to visit Diskit monastery. This 500 year old Gompa is a branch of the Thiksey monastery and offers spectacular views of the valley. Afterwards drive back to Leh, again crossing Khardung La pass. The evening is at leisure to explore the local market on own. DAY .9 : Leh
Depart early in the morning for an excursion to Pangong Lake. The drive will take approximately 6 hours one way. Enroute you will pass Chang-la (18,000 feet) which despite its great elevation is one of the easier passes, remaining open for much of the year even in winter, apart from periods of actual snowfall. Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet , is the most famous lake in Ladakh. A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometers at its widest point to which foreigners are permitted, it affords spectacular views of the mountains of the Changchenmo range to the north, their reflection shimmering in the ever-changing blues and greens of the lake’s brackish water. Above Spangmik are the glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Pangong range. Return to Leh afterwards. DAY .10 Departure from Leh
